A Month of Cybersecurity Advancements: September at Oreng Academy Center of Excellence
We are happy to report all the cybersecurity events, sharing sessions, training and workshops that were conducted at our training center, or better known as Center of Excellence (COE). Government and private agencies alike flocked to our institution to enhance their capabilities and bolster their security measures. Knowledge Sharing Session:
September commenced with a Knowledge Sharing Session, where security engineers from OrenG Academy and our clients from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) shared their insights and experiences in the evolving field of cybersecurity. Attendees gained valuable perspectives on the latest trends, emerging threats, and best practices in safeguarding digital assets.
Web Pentest Training:
This training was done with our clients Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from their respective IT department. Participants learned the art of ethical hacking, focusing on identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in web applications. This training equipped them with the skills to proactively defend against cyber threats. During the training, hands-on practices were carried out to enhance their understanding within the topic.
Network Forensic Training:
Network forensics is a vital component in the cybersecurity landscape. OrenG Academy offered a comprehensive Network Forensic Training workshop conducted by our experienced network engineers. This training was delivered to our client, IT personnels from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . Attendees delved deep into the techniques and tools used to investigate network incidents, ensuring they can respond swiftly and effectively to security breaches.
Hardening Workshop:
Hardening Workshops are usually done towards the end of a cycle of security posture assessment. It is important that the results from an assessment are analyzed to clients, so that they may be equipped with the knowledge to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen their organization’s security posture. Hardening workshops conducted by our security engineers provide attendees with hands-on experience in system hardening and configuration management.
Database and Security Training:
Databases house critical information and are prime targets for cyberattacks. The Database and Security Training course at Oreng Academy was tailored to help the attendees understand the intricacies of securing databases, from encryption to access control, to mitigate risks effectively.
Vulnerability Tools Training (Burp Suite and Nessus Pro):
Two of the most essential tools in a cybersecurity professional’s arsenal are Burp Suite and Nessus Pro. Our clients from the Ministry of Education were introduced to these tools and trained in their usage to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities.
